Clio Finalists 2006

clio_logo.gif

Australia has managed just one finalist in this years Clio Internet Awards. Again we've kept our head high in the other categories so it's not a total loss.

Congrats go to Tribal DDB for their McDonalds site. Let's hope it brings home a gold.

I can't see any NZ finalists so we aren't that bad :)

Webby Awards.

The webby's are a combination of judges votes on one hand an peoples votes on the other. It's really good because it's about the online community as distinct from awards which tend to apply the analogue judging to digital some of the time.

The winners here.

There's a huge range of work, and all generally good work. Check it out.

(btw unashamed plug - Poke seems to do quite well we got two this year, and a couple last year as well...)

Back from D&AD

I have returned from D&AD and letting you know the team will endevor to post up as many of the shortlisted entries as we can in the next few weeks. I've also posted a few photos which show the sheer scale of the event.

While there were no Aussie noms or in book for online Campaign Brief reports a record 7 noms for Aussie entries in D&AD in the other catagories. Although there's an interesting discussion going on about some of the nominations.

Cyber Won Report

Now I'm not exactly sure on the due diligence of this report but it's pretty sad to see Australia not even in the top 20 countries for Interactive. Where as we are 5th for direct.

But hey at least New Zealand didn't beat us. Phew! Let's make it Australia's goal to at least break the top 20 in 2006.

Ashley heads off to D&AD

jury_folder.gif

Judging for D&AD takes place from the 2-3 of April in London. There were quite a few good entries this year and picking who gets the pencils will be hard.

Hopefully I can also help cement Bannerblog into the minds of all the jurors to further promote and enhance the quality of the work submitted to this site.

I'll also be taking an extended break around Europe so I leave you in the capable hands of Ashadi and the rest of the crew.
