ASX Digital Media Market Watch
I checked my ASX watch list for the first time in a while and I was surprised that the four major listed digital media companies are all sharing a sliding share price for the last year (Jan07 to Dec07). Despite this being the best year for digital media and with another bumper year to come? Commquest can be excused as it's only been listed for less than a month.

STW Group, Blue Freeway, Commquest, Q limited and Hyro represent almost all the listed digital agencies in Australia. If you need to brush up on your web talk and buzz words browse the list ;)
I should have bought Apple shares.

Know it doesn't relate directly to the point you're making Ashley, but like every conscientious Australian digital market participant, I've had Google News & Technorati watches on all the listed guys for months, years, whatever - it surprises me how LITTLE coverage CommQuest have gotten from any quarter... none basically except the obligatory mention in B&T & AdNews, and I think were was a single The Oz article.
Not sure if CQU or any of the other guys above are mentioned in broker/institutional circles... maybe they've been discounted this year because in comparison to all the headliner AAARF, DbleClick deals etc in OS markets they look to lack scale? (apples and oranges of course, but if the money'd up institutional investors aren't playing ball, there must be a reason)

hey Andrew,
I guess people were a little over all the tech mergers and buyouts. CommQuest didn't really have anything new to say or just isn't as savvy with the PR as the other players?

ashley, the cynic in me would say a bit of both, but because I'm not on the ground anymore (in London going on 3 months) I couldn't be sure. BlueFreeway has a dedicated marketing/PR head, and Webb had a news-friendly back story when it floated 12 months prior, but maybe everything new & sexy had already been said come CommQuest time.
