But I don't think I've seen one banner or online initiative in Australia trying do anything except try and get themselves elected. Quite sad when you think about.

Oh man, that's horrifically bad for anyone actually trying to use the website.
Some of the examples here are excellent, but the eyeblaster format and sound-on by default are conventions that need to die fast.
